Russell Springs Fire Department has been busy this week

The Russell Springs Fire Department has been busy this week.

On Wednesday evening, the fire department responded to a call of an outbuilding on fire on LaFavers Road off Damron Creek Road.

According to Fire Chief Bobby Johnson, firefighters were dispatched just before 7 p.m. Wednesday and were able to contain and extinguish the fire.

Eight firefighters were on scene for just under an hour extinguishing the fire.

Yesterday, firefighters were called out to a truck on fire on North 127 near the Russell – Casey County line.

Firefighters were called out at about 2:30 yesterday afternoon to a report of a truck engulfed in flames.

Russell Springs Firefighters along with firefighters from the Dunnville Fire Department were able to extinguish the fire and clear the scene in about an hour.
