The Russell County Middle School 6th grade basketball team claimed the Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference championship over the weekend.
In tournament play at Casey County, the Lakers entered as the top seed and picked up two victories to claim the championship, defeating Campbellsville 36-26 and then Adair County 38-27.
