Two unlawful imprisonment incidents reported in Wayne County over last few days

Two hostage situations were reported in neighboring Wayne County over the last few days.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, one incident occurred in the early morning hours today where EMS and law enforcement were called to a home where a man was laying in the floor unresponsive. After the man became responsive, he began cussing at the homeowner and then barricaded the door, not allowing the homeowner to go outside for help.

After a brief standoff, officers placed 37-year-old Jason Piercy under arrest on charges of terroristic threatening and unlawful imprisonment.

The Monticello Police Department was involved in another situation last Saturday.

Police say at approximately 10:30 Saturday morning, they were called to a residence after a juvenile female called dispatch stating her mother was being hit and choked and was being held in a bedroom by her mother’s boyfriend who was carrying a firearm.

Police had a standoff where the suspect was holding the victim inside the residence.

After several attempts, police were able to get the suspect out of the house.

37-year-old Crockett Keith Dehaii faces several charges including unlawful imprisonment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, assault fourth degree, strangulation first degree, and defacing a firearm, among other charges.

Both men were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
