Two sent to hospital following Wednesday morning collision

Two people were sent to the hospital following a wreck at the intersection of East Highway 80 and Dowell Road yesterday morning.

According to Russell Springs Police, the collision occurred just before 7 a.m. when a 2007 Nissan Quest operated by 62-year-old Doris Holcomb of Russell Springs collided with a 1999 Ford Ranger operated by 50-year-old Robby Lovins of Lebanon.

According to police, Holcomb was traveling on Dowell Road toward East 80 and said her brakes failed as she approached the intersection, striking Lovins.

Holcomb and Lovins were both taken to Russell County Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The collision was investigated by Russell Springs Police.
