Mary Lou Roy, age 69, of Russell Springs

Mary Lou Roy, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, in Somerset. She was 69 years of age.

Born on August 5, 1954, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Alice Bray Wilson. Mary was retired from Russell Sportswear, and enjoyed farming with her husband, Junior. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary liked watching Little House on the Prairie and shopping at thrift stores.

Mary is survived by her husband, Junior Roy, of Russell Springs; three sons, Ricky Roy, of Russell Springs, Mark (and Monica) Roy, of Russell Springs, and Gary (and Lee Ann) Roy, of Columbia; five grandchildren, Brandon (Maddie) Roy, Zachary Roy, Austin Roy, Katlyn (and Jordan) Ford, and Eli Roy; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan Ford, Jackson Ford, Grayson Ford, Cannon McCormack. Mary is also survived four brothers, Estil (and Marlene) Wilson, of Indiana, Cyrus Wilson, Eugene (and Nancy) Wilson, and Jimmy Wilson, all of Russell Springs; and four sisters, Ava (and Lee) Johnson, of Russell Springs, Laurie Roy, of Columbia, Doris (and William) Hadley, of Russell Springs, and Dorothy (and James) Miller, of Russell Springs.

In addition to her mother, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Ray Lay.

Funeral services are 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with her son, Brother Gary Roy and Brother Bobby Withers officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, and will continue from 7:30 A.M. until time of services on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Roy, Brandon Roy, Austin Roy, Eli Roy, Jordan Ford, and Jared Harrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wilkerson Cemetery. Donations can be made at the funeral home.
