Laker Boys Get Win Over Warren Central

The Russell County Laker boys basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season as the defeated top ranked Warren Central Friday night at Laker gym by a score of 69-59.

The Lakers took command early in the game with aggressive man to man and zone defenses, and behind Sophomore Dylan Stanelle who came off the bench to hit three three pointers early.    Russell County led by six at halftime, increased the lead to as many as 13 before closing out and winning by 10.

The Lakers were led in scoring by Stanelle with 19 points on five three pointers.   Juniors Owen Loy and Mayes Gosser finished with 14 and 12, respectively, while Braydon Cerrato added 10 points to give first year Coach Brandon Cooper his first win at Laker gym.
