Lady Lakers cap off Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic run with victory in championship

The Russell County Lady Lakers capped off their weekend at the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic with a come-from-behind victory in the championship game.

The Lady Lakers trailed Notre Dame High School from Chattanooga, Tennessee by as many as 22 in the second half, coming back to force overtime where the Lady Lakers came away with a 50-44 victory.

Rachel Bolin led the Lady Lakers with 15 points, followed by Aniyah Coffey with 11, and Addy Abrell with 10.

Bolin knocked down three 3-pointers for the Lady Lakers and Coffey led the team in rebounding with 7 in the game.

The Lady Lakers are back in action tomorrow when they take on Harlan High School as part of the Vanous Lloyd Christmas Tournament at Warren Central High School.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
