Anyone wishing to change their political party for the change to take effect at next year’s primary election only has a few days remaining to do so.
The deadline to change party affiliations for the May primary is Dec. 31.
Those wishing to change their party affiliation can do so by visiting the county clerk’s office today or tomorrow, as the courthouse will be closed on Friday.
Voters can also change their affiliation online through the state board of elections voter registration portal, which can be accessed here.
Next year’s primary election will include races for United States President, United States House of Representatives, Kentucky House and Senate seats, as well as local races for Circuit Court Clerk, Board of Education, City Council, and others.
