City manhole project has begun

The Russell Springs manhole project has begun.

The project, which was approved by the Russell Springs City Council last month, aims to look at 31 different manholes within the city to see what improvements need to be done.

Motorists traveling Highway 127 this week have likely seen crews out examining these manholes.

The project is also an effort by the city to address a lingering odor in the Midtown area near Hardee’s that has persisted for several months.

There is no word yet on when the project will be completed, but we’ll bring you updates on local news as they are available.
