The Russell Springs Christmas Parade and Yule Light up the Night 5K together raised more than $5,100 for local charities.
At last night’s Russell Springs City Council meeting, Mayor Eddie Thomas made check presentations for the WJRS Food for the Needy Drive and the Russell County Jaycees Toys for Tots.
Entry fees from the Russell Springs Christmas Parade were donated to the Food for the Needy drive, which totaled $1,500.
Entry fees from the 5K were donated to the Toys for Tots program, which totaled just over $3,600.
