Betty Lou Stapp Brown, age 81, of Jamestown

Betty Lou Stapp Brown, of Jamestown, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at her home. She was 81 years of age. She was born at home, on November 4, 1942, in Jamestown, KY, a daughter of the late Christopher Clyde and Hallie Pearl Miller Hudson. Betty was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church.  She lived for her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She cherished every moment she had with her family, calling to check on her “boys” every day. She also loved playing the piano. Her and her sister, Peggy, frequently visited nursing homes to sing gospel hymns and play for the residents. Betty Lou was passionate about decorating homes while working as a Home Interiors decorator.  Betty was also a mother to many children while serving as a foster parent with her husband Otha for several years.

Betty Lou is survived by her sons, Mark (and Chanda) Stapp, of Laurel, MS, and Chris (and Tammie) Stapp, of Jamestown; her brother, Jack Hudson, of Russell Springs, KY; three sisters, Sue (and Jackie) Aaron, of Russell Springs, Hilda Miller, of Ohio, and Peggy Snow, of Russell Springs; five grandchildren, Daniel Stapp, Samuel (and Lancy) Stapp, Luke Stapp, Rebecca Stapp, and Cade Harris; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie Stapp and Levi Stapp.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otha Brown, who passed away October 19, 2018; and four brothers, Jimmy Hudson, Phillip Hudson, Hubert Hudson, and Christopher Hudson.

Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 4, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Pastor David Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Rexroat Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Bernard Funeral Home.
