Russell County Schools earn green rating in new state report

Russell County Schools have earned a green rating in the latest report card data from the state level.

The green rating is the second-best rating a school can receive under the state’s accountability system, with blue being the highest performance level of the five colors on the scale.

Russell County Schools received a green rating at the elementary, middle, and high school level. This is an improvement from the previous year’s data, which had Russell County in the yellow category at the elementary and middle school level with the high school in green. Yellow is the third-best rating a school can receive.

The ratings are based on testing data from the last academic year and come from students in grades 3-8, along with sophomores and juniors in high school who took the Kentucky Summative Assessments.

These report card ratings are released each fall, and are packed with data from the previous school year.
