Lexington man flown out after being struck by car at 127/Maple Street intersection

A Lexington man was flown out after he was struck by a car Tuesday evening at the intersection of Highway 127 and Maple Street.

According to Russell Springs Police, the accident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. when 63-year-old Byron Carter of Lexington was walking and crossed into the path of a 2004 Ford Explorer traveling north operated by 66-year-old Jackie Adamson of Russell Springs.

Russell Springs Police say the light was green for Adamson’s vehicle to continue traveling.

Carter was treated on scene and then eventually flown out.

No other injuries were reported from the accident.
