A Russell Springs man died following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday morning.
According to Kentucky State Police, 35-year-old Jeremy Branham died after the 2007 Saturn he was operating collided with a dump truck.
State police say the collision occurred Tuesday morning just before 9:30 on KY 55 near Shearer Cemetery Road when Branham’s vehicle crossed the center line and then came back on the road and collided head-on with a 1999 International Dump Truck operated by 37-year-old Tyler Yarberry of Columbia.
Yarberry reportedly saw Branham cross into the northbound lane, so Yarberry crossed into the other lane to try to avoid the collision, but Branham came back into the northbound lane, striking the truck head-on.
Branham was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Kentucky State Police Post 15 is continuing the investigation. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Russell County EMS, Russell County Rescue Squad, the coroner’s office, and local fire departments.
