A Russell Springs man is charged with attempted murder following an incident Sunday night.
According to Russell Springs Police, officers were called to a residence on Bluebird Drive at around 11 p.m. to a call regarding a stabbing that had taken place.
Police say the victim, identified as Ronald Draper, suffered stab wounds to his eye, the back of his head, and the back of his neck.
Police say Draper identified his neighbor, 35-year-old Joseph Shoaf, as the attacker.
He said he and Shoaf were at the table eating dinner when Shoaf stood up and attacked him with a knife fleeing the scene.
Police located Shoaf at his residence, along with the knife used in the attack and several bags of marijuana.
Shoaf was arrested on charges of attempted murder and trafficking in marijuana.
Draper was transported to Russell County Hospital, then to the University of Kentucky Hospital.
