A nationwide emergency alert test affecting radios, cell phones, and televisions will take place today.
The test is being conducted by FEMA and the FCC, and will take place at 1:20 p.m. CT.
People should be aware that the alert this afternoon will cause an alarm to go off on their cell phones and the portion affecting radio and television will last approximately one minute.
