There are plans in the works to reopen the Jabez voting precinct.
At this week’s fiscal court meeting, the court approved funds to purchase needed equipment.
Jabez has not had a polling location since 2019 and since then, residents voting in-person have had to travel around 20 miles or more to the nearest polling location.
County Clerk Patti Glover told the fiscal court poll workers are still needed to get the Jabez voting precinct reopened. Anyone interested can contact the county clerk’s office.
