A 16-year-old Wayne County teen was arrested after reportedly stabbing another teen.
The incident occurred Monday night around 10 a.m. near the playground at Memorial Park, and the 15-year-old victim was transported to Wayne County Hospital before being airlifted to University of Kentucky Hospital. His injuries are serious but believed to be non-life threatening.
The 16-year-old suspect is charged with assault first degree and tampering with physical evidence.
He was transported to the Adair Youth Development Center in Columbia where he will remain incarcerated until formal court proceedings later this week.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are likely.
