School board gives Ford exemplary marks in annual review

Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford received a strong vote of confidence from the board of education at an end-of-the-fiscal year board meeting held Friday afternoon.

Ford received exemplary grades in each standard from the board, the best grade a superintendent can receive from a board. School boards evaluate superintendents based on different areas of leadership such as instructional, managerial, human resource, strategic, cultural, and others.

The board was in executive session for 12 minutes at Friday’s meeting before returning to open session and announcing the results of the evaluation.

Ford said he appreciates the vote of confidence, but credited many others for successes within the school district.
