New data shows drug arrests in Russell County last year were the lowest in five years.
The annual Crime in Kentucky report by Kentucky State Police shows 328 drug arrests were made in Russell County in 2022, which was the lowest in five years.
That number of arrests was a noticeable dip from 2021, in which 458 drug arrests were made.
In 2020, the number of drug arrests stood at 336 according to the report, while it was 413 in 2019 and 651 in 2018.
Methamphetamine continues to be the drug involved in most drug-related arrests, with 101 meth-related arrests in 2022.
