Russell County 12-14 year olds perform well at 4-H Shooting Sports competition

The Russell Co. 4-H Shooting Sports Club recently hosted the Ralph Pettyjohn Memorial 4-H Competition at the Russell County Sportsmen’s Club.

The Russell County team had a strong performance. Here are some of the top finishers in the individual competitions for ages 12-14.

Sarah Grider – 1^st place target recurve archery and longbow

Ryan Stanton – 1^st place .22 pistol

Brayden Popplewell – 1^st place .22 sport rifle, 1^st place BB, 2^nd place .22 target rifle

Andrea Russell – 1^st place black powder flintlock rifle; 3^rd place black powder percussion rifle

Nate Kerns – 2^nd place bowhunter and target compound archery

Alyssa Wethington – 2^nd place target recurve archery

Aiden McDonald – 3^rd place .22 pistol

Benton Kimbler – 3^rd place .22 target rifle
