The National Weather Service in Louisville has released more details about the tornado that touched down in neighboring Casey County over the weekend.
According to officials, the tornado was categorized as an EF-1 with wind speeds between 100 and 105 miles per hour. The tornado traveled just over one-tenth of a mile and had a max width of 40 yards.
The tornado touched down off Wilson Ridge Road in Casey County, peeling off a portion of a metal roof on a home as well as detaching a back porch awning.
The weather service also surveyed another EF-1 tornado that touched down in Anderson County on Sunday.
