Nearly two-and-a-half weeks after a man was shot by law enforcement in neighboring Clinton County, no new information about the shooting has been released by Kentucky State Police.
WJRS News requested more information regarding the shooting this week, but Kentucky State Police Post 15 Public Affairs Officer Jonathan Houk told WJRS News the investigation had not yet reached a point where KSP would release more information.
Few details are known about the shooting that occurred on July 11. According to Kentucky State Police, Post 15 troopers and detectives responded to the scene at the intersection of KY 90 and Willow Grove Road the evening of July 11 and a man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers were called in by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the shooting, although it is not clear which agency was involved in the shooting.
There are some reports that the shooting followed a pursuit that began in Wayne County, but that has not been confirmed by Kentucky State Police.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the Commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
