At last night’s meeting of the Russell County Fiscal Court, Judge Executive Randy Marcum told the court the county needed to look into new measures aimed at improving security at the courthouse.
Marcum noted a recent instance where a door at the courthouse was left unlocked overnight, and recommended a new door-locking system that can lock and unlock doors remotely, as well as a badge system for authorized users to lock and unlock doors.
No final decisions were made about what system the county would purchase, but the court approved a motion to allow Marcum to look into new door-lock systems.
