Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating a murder that occurred in Monroe County over the weekend.
According to state police, the murder occurred at around 1 p.m. Sunday when 22-year-old Jose Robles of Tompkinsville was involved in a verbal altercation with 27-year-old Austin King and 23-year-old Cory Flippin, both of Tompkinsville.
Robles reportedly fired a weapon, striking both King and Flippin.
Flippin was transported from the scene but passed away at the hospital, and King was transported with life-threatening injuries.
Robles was arrested and charged with murder first degree and assault first degree.
He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
