The Russell Springs Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire at 464 Bluebird Drive yesterday.
According to Fire Chief Bobby Johnson, 13 firefighters were on scene for about 3 hours.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and living room area of the home and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Johnson stated the importance of having working smoke detector and a fire extinguisher available in homes and to have a fire escape plan in place.
