Maynard indicted on murder charge; grand jury indicts 11 others

A Russell Springs man has been indicted for murder in the death of his half-brother at a residence near Jamestown last month.

A Russell County grand jury met yesterday and indicted 18-year-old Lee Maynard on charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Maynard is accused of fatally shooting his half-brother, 22-year-old Charles Maynard at a residence on Fox Lane near Jamestown on April 5.

Maynard is being held on a $1 million bond.

The grand jury also indicted several others yesterday. Those individuals include:

Jeramie C. Graham, age 28 of Russell Springs, on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine and being a persistent felony offender.

Ricky W. Jones, age 48, of Jamestown, on a charge of theft by failure to make required disposition of property $10,000 or more.

James M. Whitaker, age 30 of Jamestown, on charges of bail jumping first degree and being a persistent felony offender.

Brandon Gadberry, age 42, of Russell Springs, on charges of bail jumping first degree and being a persistent felony offender.

Christopher Lee Stephens, age 30, of Russell Springs, on charges of bail jumping first degree and being a persistent felony offender.

Darryl Durham, age 49, of Nancy, on a charge of flagrant nonsupport.

Miranda Butrum, age 34, of Jamestown, on two counts of flagrant nonsupport and being a persistent felony offender.

Jeff Scott, age 41, of Russell Springs, charged with assault on a jail employee and being a persistent felony offender.

Jeremiah Grider, age 33 of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in more than two grams of methamphetamine.

Tony L. Brummett, age 62 of Jamestown, charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Terri A. Phillips, age 49 of Edinburgh, Indiana and Keith Hancock, age 61, of Nancy, charged with possession of methamphetamine and violating an EPO/DVO.
