Lakers score 15 in win over Monroe, advance to district championship tonight

Trace Stringer had a big night as the Russell County Laker Baseball team defeated Monroe County 15-5 last night to advance to the 16th District championship.

Stringer finished the night with 4 hits, 2 RBI, and 4 runs scored to lead the Lakers over the Falcons.

Mayes Gosser, Carter Stapp, Owen Loy, and Jack Shearer each drove in a pair of runs for the Lakers.

The Lakers will be back in Albany tonight, taking on the host Clinton County Bulldogs in the 16th District Championship.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. We will have coverage live on Laker Country 104.9 beginning about 10 minutes prior to first pitch.
