The ‘Kevin’s Kids’ benefit concert brought in more than $81,000 in donations this past Saturday night for the children of Russell County through the Russell County School District’s family resource and youth service centers.
Gaither musician and Russell County native Kevin Williams has headed up the event since it began in 2014 and this year’s event at the Russell Springs First Baptist Church featured Gaither musicians Todd Suttles, Michael Shade Rowsey, and Matthew Holt, among other local talent.
The $81,452.72 raised will go toward the operation of the youth service and family resource centers and provide for economically disadvantaged children in the community. The primary goal of these family resource and youth service centers is to remove non-academic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.
