Price recommended for Senior Lifetime Sportsman’s License

In a recent special-called meeting, the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously to recommend an amendment to the license, tag and permit fees administrative regulation to allow the sale of a Senior Lifetime Sportsman’s License at a price of $180.

The license would include hunting and fishing licenses plus permits for trout, deer, spring and fall turkey, migratory game birds and waterfowl.

The Senior Lifetime Sportsman’s License would be a voluntary option for seniors. Seniors would still have the option to purchase an annual Senior Sportsman’s License that provides the same licenses and permits for $12.

The process of amending regulations can take several months. This allows time for public comments and review by legislative committees with jurisdiction over particular subject areas.

The commission is a nine-member board, comprised of volunteers who serve four-year terms. The commission recommends hunting, fishing and boating regulations to conserve fish and wildlife and support related outdoor recreation opportunities in the state.
