Virginia man leads police on chase through Somerset

A Virginia man led Somerset police on a chase through the city Friday night.

Michael Barry, age 38 of Richmond, Virginia, is facing several charges from the incident.

According to Somerset Police, the chase began after a call came from the Popeyes restaurant drive-thru advising that a man was driving drunk Friday night.

The chase started there and went through several streets, with Somerset Police deploying stop sticks twice, flattening two of the tires on Barry’s Ford F-150.

The chase ended near Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where Barry was finally stopped and arrested, but not before he hit and damaged a Pulaski County Sheriff’s cruiser and a civilian vehicle, according to police.

Nobody was seriously injured in the pursuit.
