Somerset woman reportedly threatens to kill doctor, stole a funeral home van

A Somerset woman is facing several charges after she reportedly brandished a pistol at an eye doctor’s office, threatened to kill a doctor, and stole a funeral home van.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, 48-year-old Love Phelps entered Eye Health of Somerset yesterday and demanded to speak to the doctor.

After the doctor came out to speak to Phelps, she reportedly threatened to kill the doctor and was asked to leave, but she refused and pulled a pistol out of her jacket and pointed it at people inside the doctor’s office.

After Phelps left the doctor’s office, she was stopped by deputies with the sheriff’s office and after a brief standoff where Phelps refused to give up the pistol, she was arrested.

Further investigation revealed that the van she was driving had been stolen from a funeral home in Pulaski County.

Phelps was charged with attempted murder, wanton endangerment, burglary, receiving stolen property, terroristic threatening, menacing, operating on a suspended license, and resisting arrest.

She was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
