Second escaped Casey County inmate apprehended

The second inmate that escaped from the Casey County Jail in December has been apprehended, according to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office.

Angela Mason and Chasity Burton escaped from the Casey County Jail in the early morning hours of Dec. 1, and Mason was apprehended less than 48 hours after the escape.

Burton spent a month on the run from law enforcement, but the Adair County Sheriff’s Office said Burton was located and arrested after deputies executed a search warrant on a residence off Harris Road in eastern Adair County.

Burton was reportedly taken into custody just after 9 p.m. Saturday after she was located hiding in the residence.
