RCHS Bowling has strong showing at region; Aaron qualifies for state

The Russell County High School Bowling Teams competed in the region tournament over the last several days.

The Lady Lakers finished third in the region, defeating Meade County in the opening round before falling to John Hardin in the semifinals.

In the girls singles event, Summer Aaron finished second overall and qualified for the state tournament next week in Louisville.

Karlie Scaggs finished 9th in the region with a score of 439, Hailey Pankop finished 17th with a score of 379, and Autumn Huckelby finished 37th with a score of 283.

As a team, the Lakers also finished third in the region, defeating Nelson County and John Hardin before falling to Central Hardin in the region semifinals three games to one.

In the boys singles event, Jared Melson finished 10th with a series score of 559, Lucas McFall finished 15th with a score of 539, Braden Coe finished 28th with a score of 454, and Chase White finished 35th with a score of 393.
