Marcum appoints new emergency management director in first meeting

At the first fiscal court meeting of the new year, new Russell County Judge Executive Randy Marcum made a change to the county’s emergency management director position.

Michael “Toe Joe” Bray will take over as the county’s new emergency management director.

Bray is a former commander of the Russell County Rescue Squad.

Ashley Coffey, who has served as the county’s emergency management director since the fall of 2021, will remain on staff with the county as the 911 Mapping Coordinator and Solid Waste Coordinator, along with other roles, according to Marcum.

No other major personnel changes were made during the meeting.
