Local gas prices on the rise

Local gas prices are on the rise, following a nation-wide trend.

According to AAA’s gas price tracker, the average price of gas in Russell County was at $3.19 Thursday afternoon.

That is on par with neighboring Adair and Pulaski County, and noticeably lower than Wayne County at $3.22, Cumberland County at $3.25, and Clinton County, which sat at $3.33.

Casey County had the cheapest gas in the area at $3.02.

The state average sits at $3.21 and the national average sits at $3.50.
