The Russell County Laker Swimmers traveled to Adair County on January 19th for their last away meet of the regular season. Both the boys and girl teams left Adair with victories.
The Lady Lakers were dominant in their performance at the meet taking victories in 9 of 10 events they competed in. Blair Brummett and Marlei DeVore were the top Lady Lakers scorers with victories in both of their events scoring 12 points each for the Lakers.
The Laker Boys were in a tight battle throughout the night with Adair and Pulaski County. They ultimately came out on top with the strength of their relay efforts on the night. Jacob Phillips was the top Laker Boy with two runner up finishes in his two events scoring 8 points on the evening.
The Lakers are back in action Thursday as they recognize their 2 seniors, Ally Stephens and Weston Ryan. This Senior Night meet will be the last meet of the regular season, as they host Adair County, Bardstown, Pulaski, Somerset, and Southwestern to the ANC. We will honor our seniors at 5:50pm CST and will begin the meet immediately afterwards.
