A two-vehicle, head-on collision on North Highway 127 Monday evening left a woman dead and resulted in a man being airlifted from the scene.
WJRS News has learned that 75-year-old Wanda Mae Wethington was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s Office and a man was airlifted from the scene.
The collision reportedly occurred at around 6 p.m. Monday near the Dollar General store on North Highway 127 between the store and Webbs Crossroads.
An accident reconstruction team was called in to the scene as well.
Kentucky State Police is in charge of the investigation and no further details have been released by state police, including the name of the other individual involved.
