A Monticello man was killed following a three-vehicle crash over the weekend in neighboring Wayne County, according to state police.
The wreck occurred on KY 90 near Frazier Road in Wayne County around 6:30 eastern time Saturday evening.
Police say a 2012 Mazda 3 driven by Mark K. Hinkle, 62 years old of Monticello, was traveling east on KY 90, when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Tori L. Dale Russel, 26, also of Monticello. The Mazda continued traveling west and struck a third vehicle a 2016 Toyota Tundra operated by Rosa L. Jointer, 61, of Monticello.
Hinkle was pronounced dead by the Wayne County Coroner’s office. Jointer was transported by Wayne County EMS to Wayne County Hospital and treated for non-life threating injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Hinkle in Frankfort at the state medical examiner’s office.
KSP Post 11 Trooper Austin Cornett is continuing the investigation.
