Two female inmates escape in Casey County

Two female inmates escaped early this morning from unlocked doors in a work center in neighboring Casey County.

The Casey County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the two inmates who escaped at 4:20 a.m. local time on Thursday.

The inmates have been identified as Angela Mason and Chasity Burton. Both women are Level 1 offenders and classified to work in the community.

The sheriff’s office says the women, who are still at large, are not considered armed and dangerous but are criminals.

Casey County Schools operated on a delay Thursday as a safety precaution.
