Russell County reports 22 new COVID cases this week

The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 22 new COVID cases in Russell County this week, an increase from last week’s total of 18.

Looking at other counties in the Lake Cumberland District, Taylor County had the most with 33 cases, Pulaski County had 30, Adair County recorded 24 cases, Wayne County reported 20 cases, McCreary County had 19, Green County reported 13 cases, Casey County had 11 cases, Cumberland County had seven cases, and Clinton County reported five cases.

The state also reported 10 individuals hospitalized in the Lake Cumberland area with COVID-19 with four of those being treated in intensive care units.

The statewide positivity rate is now 8.63 percent.
