Judge Robertson, 2 magistrates attend final fiscal court meeting

Russell County Judge-Executive Gary D. Robertson presided over his final fiscal court meeting earlier this week. Robertson did not seek re-election to a fourth term as judge earlier this year.

Robertson has been county judge for 12 years and was a magistrate for four years prior, giving him 16 years in county government.

Also not seeking re-election this year, longtime magistrates Ronald Johnson and Larry Holt attended their final court meeting on Monday night. The two outgoing magistrates played vital roles on the court in their many years of service to the county as evidenced by the support placed in them by their constituents during numerous re-election campaigns.

Several recognitions and honors occurred at the meeting and the outgoing county leaders were joined by their families for refreshments following the conclusion of the meeting.

In January, Zach Wilson and Larry D. Skaggs will join fellow magistrates Mickey Garner, Steve Richardson, and Terry Waddell on the fiscal court. Randy Marcum, who won election this fall, will take over as county judge-executive in January as well.
