Event at ANC tonight to detail negative effects vaping can have today’s youth

The Russell County Youth Service Centers and Partners in Prevention have joined together to offer a parent-student academy tonight at the Russell County Schools ANC from 5 to 7 p.m.

Michael DeLeon of Steered Straight, Inc. will be giving a presentation entitled “Vaping Me Crazy,” on why the national trend to minimize the dangers of e-cigarette devices and market them to youth constitutes a profiling message that kids not only will understand but will serve as a catalyst for change.

Discussed will be how vaping can affect the body as well and how parental education and awareness of the topic cannot be overestimated in keeping today’s youth healthy.

The event is free and childcare and food will also be provided.
