Dangerously low wind chills, temps later this week

The National Weather Service in Louisville says seasonably cold and dry weather is expected through Tuesday.

For the second half of the week, an arctic cold front will bring bitterly cold air on Thursday along with gusty winds which will account for negative wind chill readings Friday and Christmas Eve morning on Saturday. Temperatures and wind chills this low can be life-threatening.

Also, there is an expected period of wintry weather late Thursday into Friday with the cold front passage, highlighting a moderate risk of at least minor impacts during the holiday travel period. Exact accumulation totals are still up in the air at this point.
