The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 18 new COVID cases in Russell County this week, a slight increase from last week’s total of 16.
Looking at other counties in the Lake Cumberland Area, Pulaski County had the most with 43 cases, McCreary County had 29, Taylor County recorded 24 cases, Wayne County reported 19 cases, Casey County had 15, Adair County reported 14 cases, Green County had nine cases, Clinton County had seven cases, and Cumberland County reported six cases.
The state also reported 8 individuals hospitalized in the Lake Cumberland area with COVID-19 with two of those being treated in intensive care units. One individual was listed as being on a ventilator.
The statewide positivity rate is now just over 8 percent.
