Russell County has 25 new COVID cases this week

The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 25 new COVID cases in Russell County this week, up from last week’s total of 16. The 25 cases are tied with neighboring Pulaski County for the most in the Lake Cumberland district this week.

Wayne County had 15 cases, Adair County recorded 14 cases, Casey County reported 11 cases, Taylor County had 10, McCreary County reported eight cases, Green County had seven cases, Cumberland County had six cases, and Clinton County reported five cases.

The state also reported 15 individuals hospitalized in the Lake Cumberland area with COVID-19 with three of those being treated in intensive care units. One individual was listed as being on a ventilator.

The statewide positivity rate is now 6.73 percent.
