The Russell County High School and Russell County Middle School Cheer squads competed in regional competitions over the weekend.
The high school cheer team finished third in the region in the CoEd division behind Barren County and Apollo. With the third-place finish, the team qualified for the state competition.
The middle school cheer team won its division in a competition over the weekend and will be moving on to the state competition in December.
