A Monticello man was arrested in Wayne County following a vehicle pursuit over the weekend.
According to Wayne County law enforcement, James S. Cowan of Monticello was arrested and charged with speeding 20mph over the limit, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police first degree, two counts of wanton endangerment first degree, resisting arrest, operating a vehicle under the influence, and other charges.
The sheriff’s office in Wayne County reported that Cowan attempted to evade law enforcement following a traffic stop and crossed multiple lanes of traffic in an attempt to escape police.
He was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
