A vehicle versus tractor collision late last week in neighboring Adair County sent an Adair County man to the hospital with serious injuries and a Casey County man to jail, according to authorities.
This past Thursday afternoon the Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident on KY 551 near the Adair-Casey county line.
Upon arrival at the scene, Adair Deputy Tracy McCarrol and Adair Sheriff Josh Brockman discovered that a 2013 Toyota truck, being driven by Anthony Wolford of Casey County had attempted to pass Gerry Wethington, of Adair County, who was operating a 3390 Ford Tractor.
The collision resulted in the tractor being broken in half and Wethington being ejected. Wethington was airlifted the University of Louisville Hospital from the old Knifley Grade School parking lot after being treated on scene by Adair EMS.
After investigation of the collision, Wolford was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, wanton endangerment and first degree assault, and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail after medical clearance from the hospital.
The Knifley Fire Department, Adair County EMS, Air Evac and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the crash.
