Russell County High School among few in state to see ACT score improvements

While most high schools in Kentucky saw decreases in the average ACT score compared to pre-pandemic levels, Russell County High School is among a handful that saw its average ACT score increase from 2019.

Russell County High School saw its average composite score on the standardized test rise from 17.4, which ranked 150th in the state in 2019, to 18.7 in 2022, which ranked 42nd in the state.

That was the second-highest jump in terms of rankings, only behind Green County which rose 113 spots.

The 1.3 point increase was also second in the state behind Green County High School, which saw its average score rise 1.7 points.

Statewide, the average ACT composite score dropped from 19 in 2019 to 18.3 in 2022.
